The African Football Confederation (CAF) decided this Wednesday to postpone the match between the Egyptian Zamalek and his Moroccan counterpart Raja Casablanca in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-final until October 31.
The decision was made after the Moroccan Ministry of Health refused the Al Raja delegation to travel to Cairo to fight the second leg, due to the infection of 8 players from the team’s ranks with the new Corona virus.
The African Union Emergency Committee held a meeting to discuss the request made by the Raja club management to postpone the match that was scheduled for Saturday due to the infection of several of its players with “Covid-19”.

And the Moroccan Ministry of Health decided that Raja’s team would go into quarantine, for a period of 7 days, after discovering 9 cases of Coronavirus, and among the 8 infected players.
Following the decision, press reports revealed that the Moroccan Sports Club’s management had canceled all reservations for the team’s trip to the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
On the other hand, the African Confederation (CAF) set the date for the first semifinal match between Egypt’s Al-Ahly and Wydad Casablanca, which will be scheduled for Friday at the Cairo International Stadium.
Egypt will host the final of the African Champions League, scheduled for November 6.
Notably, Zamalek beat their counterpart Raja with an unanswered goal, while Al-Ahly came out with a victory over host Wydad (2-0), in the first leg of the semifinal of the continental competition.
