An Israeli official told the BBC that a high-level Israeli delegation traveled to Sudan on Monday.
The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, declined to specify the names of the participants in the delegation or the length of their stay in Sudan.
US President Donald Trump announced last month that Sudan had agreed to establish relations with Israel.
This is the first Israeli delegation to visit Sudan after the announcement of this agreement.
Sudan followed the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to normalize relations with Israel, with the encouragement of Washington, which says this approach will help isolate Iran.
An Israeli intelligence official had previously made it clear that his country’s first delegation would go to Sudan and carry out intelligence and security missions, followed by a larger delegation, specializing in economic and trade affairs.
Israel Army Radio announced the Israeli delegation’s visit to Sudan on Monday, without giving further details.
The announcement of the Israeli delegation’s visit to Sudan came alongside reports of a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
While the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry denied the reports, there were no comments from Netanyahu’s office.
