The new strain of Coronavirus does not appear to be more severe than other strains, but its susceptibility to spread makes awareness of symptoms clearer, and a major warning sign may reveal an infection.
According to the British newspaper “express”, the “consistency of stool” or “diarrhea” can reveal an infection with the new strain of the emerging corona virus, which first appeared in the United Kingdom and then spread to several countries.
Throughout the epidemic, Corona has produced the disease that is born from the latest Corona virus, a large number of symptoms that are not naturally related to the respiratory system.
Diarrhea is one of the mildest and most common gastrointestinal symptoms, as Stanford University researchers found that a third of study patients with a mild case of Covid-19 had symptoms that affect the digestive system.
Another study published by researchers in Beijing found that between a third and 79% of people with Covid-19 develop digestive symptoms.
Additionally, a study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology examined 206 patients with a mild case of Corona and found that 48 people had symptoms only in the digestive system and another 69 had symptoms in the digestive and respiratory systems, out of a total of 117 people who suffered from upset stomach, 19.4% developed diarrhea as the first symptom.
Additionally, an analysis of data from the COVID Symptom Study app listed it among their top symptoms, along with headache, loss of smell, loss of appetite, sore throat, and chest pain.
Other warning signs
In addition to losing your sense of smell or taste, the British National Health Service says that the main symptoms of the Corona virus are:
– High temperature.
A new and persistent cough.
How to protect yourself
If you have any of the main symptoms of the coronavirus, get tested to see if you are infected as soon as possible.
You and anyone you live with should stay home until you get the test result; just get out of your house for the test.
Anyone in a bubble of support should also stay home if they have been in close contact with them since symptoms started or within 48 hours before they started.
The support bubble is where a person who lives alone (or only with their children) can meet people from another household.
Can I treat my symptoms?
There is currently no specific treatment for coronavirus (COVID-19), but you can often ease symptoms at home until you recover.
If you have a high fever, it can help you:
Get plenty of rest.
Drink plenty of fluids (water is best) to avoid dehydration.
Drink enough so that your urine is light yellow and clear.
