Books – Muhammad Shaban:

Investigations revealed new details about a retired police officer’s accusation of burning his mother by his neighbors in the Haram area.

It turned out that his name was “Tamer M.”, thirty years old, retired from work several years ago, married and living with his mother in the apartment in question, after the death of his brother.

The victim’s neighbors accused their son of setting his mother on fire, in addition to his many fights with her, and of beating her.

In statements to police, neighbors said the young man was forcing his mother to assume sums of money after spending his monthly pension.

Sources familiar with the investigations confirmed: “It is not necessary to indicate that a crime has occurred … There is no tangible evidence … The two live alone, no one has seen anything.”

The sources indicated that the son’s statements were recorded in the file in preparation for their presentation to the Public Ministry, which initiated the investigation.

The beginning came when the head of the Haram police station received a signal from the emergency police that a report had arrived about the death of a woman with first degree burns in her apartment.

A force moved from the section of the pyramid led by Major Ahmed Essam to the communication site and imposed a cordon around the property. The body of a woman in her sixties was found with scattered burns.

Hearing her son, a “retired officer”, reported that 3 days ago his mother was preparing food, boiling oil was poured on her and fire spread through her clothes.

The son confirmed that he ran to his mother’s rescue by pouring water on her, noting that he had brought a set of “ointments” to treat her. He added that on Thursday he was surprised by the deterioration of his condition, so he called the ambulance, “I was thinking he was in a coma.”
