Eid Marazeeq, coach of the Al-Ahly Bank football team, expressed his great joy at leading his team to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, before thanking those he called “enemies of success”.
Al-Ahly Bank managed to ascend to the Premier League in the next season 2020/2021, after leading the first group, “Upper Egypt”, on the last day of the second division competition, thanks to its superiority in direct confrontations over the Beni Suef.
“Praise God, congratulations to the National Bank club and to all of us, I thank Almighty God for everything, the players, the board of directors, the football committee and all the fans of the club,” Marazeeq said in exclusive remarks on Leela Kora.
He added: “The players made a great effort and clung to hope, even if it was weak, but we worked on that and put our dream before our eyes, so that God would help us achieve our goal.”
He continued: “The journey was long. That season was the longest in the history of the Egyptian League, as it lasted 12 months due to the Corona pandemic.”
He explained: “I spent two years with Al-Ahly Bank and moved the team from the third to the second division last season, until we managed to qualify for the Premier League.”
Regarding the possibility of continuing with the team, Marazeeq stressed: “The Football Committee will determine my fate. My contract was for one year and ended at the end of this season, but I will respect the vision of the decision-making board, and the meetings continue about it. “
The National Bank technician concluded by saying: “I have a message, thanks to the enemies of success, because they gave me more strength and determination”, before refusing to name these people, saying: “The one with the head feels bad “.
