The Zamalek club leaders responded to the complaint that the president of the Smouha Club board of directors, Farag Amer, presented to the Egyptian Football Association due to Imam Ashour’s participation in the face of the two teams in the Egyptian Cup .
The engineer Farag Amer, president of the Smouha Club of Alexandria, made an official complaint to the Egyptian Football Association against Zamalek Club after the match of the two teams in the Egyptian Cup due to the participation of Imam Ashour against the two teams, despite the dissemination of reports that the Competition Committee had stopped a match.
Imam Ashour participated as a substitute and scored the equalizer for his team in the 81st minute, before Ahmed Zizou snatched the winning goal from Zamalek, in the second overtime of the Egyptian Cup, and deposited Smouha Club in the tournament.
A source from the Zamalek Club said that the participation of the first player of the soccer team, Imam Ashour, was 100% legal, because an official letter was not received from the Soccer Association in which it was indicated that the player was discontinued.
He added that there was news about Imam Ashour’s suspension a few minutes before the match, and the Football Association did not inform us of any official decision, so the player’s participation with Zamalek Club against Smouha is legal.
Therefore, there will be no responsibility that may fall on the player Imam Ashour or the Zamalek club regarding their participation in the Smouha match of the Egypt Cup.
