South African coach Pitso Mosimane, coach of the Al-Ahly club, said his team did not reach the level they wanted despite beating Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca back and forth.

Musimani added, in post-match comments late on Friday: “We did well in both games against Wydad at home and away.”

He continued: “We played the first leg better than the second leg in Egypt, but we didn’t reach the level I want even at the passing level.”

He continued: “We still have a lot of work in the next period. We will turn the page on Wydad. We have a lot of work in the next period and we must prepare with all strength for the final showdown.”

Regarding Al-Ahly playing the final match, he replied: “Al-Ahly reached the final in the last seven years more than once and had no luck, and God willing, this time we will return to the title.”

Al-Ahly were able to reach the final of the African Champions League competition after beating Wydad Casablanca by score (5-1) in the two home-away matches.

Al-Ahly, in the first leg, played last Saturday night in Morocco, won 2-0, and in the second leg, Al-Ahly renewed their victory (3-1) at the Stadium of El Cairo.

Al-Ahly will be waiting for the winner of the Zamalek match and Al-Raja in a match to be played the first of next month in Egypt, where the result of the match was in favor of the whites with an unanswered goal.

It should be noted that the final will be played in Egypt, specifically on the sixth of next month.
