Ikrami Al-Shahat, a former Al-Ahly goalkeeper, said his club’s fans have no right to attack his son Sharif, after Huddersfield’s Ramadan Sobhi refused to stay with the red team.
Ikrami confirmed in the program (90 minutes) of the channel (Al-Mehwar) that the language of professionalism now reigns in soccer circles around the world, explaining that his son Sharif, when he went to Feyenoord, the Dutchman, refused to wait to go out for free and insisted that Al-Ahly benefit from about 450 thousand euros.
He added: “Al-Ahly fans have no right to attack Ramadan Sobhi, because football has become (business) and there is no room for emotions here.” In fact, Al-Ahly does not represent any player, and Al-Ahly will remain the same whether Ramadan, Ikrami or Mahmoud Al-Khatib parted with him.
He noted that his son did not incite Ramadan to leave, noting that Ramadan sacrificed his money in England to return to Al-Ahly.
He added: “I did not bless Ramadan for his departure to the pyramids, and he did not receive my opinion, and we did not interfere closely or far in the matter of his departure to the pyramids.”
He confirmed that Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek Club, was a great friend to him and offered to join Sherif Ikrami in Al-Obeid at the time of his disagreement with Martin Yol, the former Al-Ahly coach, but he apologized saying: “It is not acceptable for Sharif to play for Zamalek as well as for Ramadan Sobhi.”
