Dr. Shawky Allam, Mufti of the Republic, in coordination with the Academy of Islamic Research, determined the value of Zakat al-Fitr for this year 1441 AH at least £ 15 for each individual.
The Mufti of the Republic stated that estimating the value of zakat al-fitr for this year, at a level of 15 pounds, was minimum for each individual with the convenience of increasing it to whoever he wanted, and noted that the Egyptian House Ifta took the opinion from Imam Abu Hanifa on the possibility of paying the value of zakat al-Fitr instead of cash. To make it easier for the poor to meet their needs and demands, and the fatwa is stable at that.
The Grand Mufti of the Republic added that the value of zakat al-fitr is equivalent to two and a half kilograms of wheat per individual, as it is more than the food of the people of Egypt.
The Grand Mufti of the Republic indicated that it is permissible to pay zakat al-Fitr legally from the first day of the month of Ramadan, and even before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. The Corona virus, where the Islamic nation, and indeed all of humanity, lives in exceptional circumstances that have changed the characteristics of normal public life in the month of Ramadan without precedent due to these precautions.
