Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, confirmed his admiration for what the Al-Ahly club presented during their confrontation with Moroccan Wydad in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-finals.
Mansour said in statements on the Zamalek club channel that the Zamalek club fans were a hero in his team’s victory over Moroccan Raja in the same round.
Mortada said: “The Zamalek fans are the real hero of today’s match. They were all behind the club and made videos to support the players before the match.”
He continued: “Pacheco is a very respectable technical director. Some did not agree with him, and we had already had an experience with him, and he had a very good assistant, but I don’t know their names.”
He added: “I am going to spend a reward of 50 thousand pounds for all Zamalek players. Everyone travels, ready or injured, and everyone will receive the reward, and they will have the same amount if they win the return.”
He added: “Al-Ahly honored Egypt yesterday against Wydad. Yes, the latter received us in Morocco, but in the end I am Egyptian and I love my country, and I saw an honorable appearance from the Al-Ahmar players.”
He concluded: “This is what not everyone knows, and I would like to explain it to Mahmoud Al-Khatib. I hope to meet Al-Ahly in the Champions League final.”
