Moroccan reports confirm the establishment of the African Super Cup between Al-Ahly and Nahdet Berkane on February 17

Press reports revealed that the African Football Confederation (CAF) has set the final date for the African Super Match, which brings together the Al-Ahly club, champion of the African Champions League in the 2020 edition, and the Moroccan club, Nahdet Berkane, champion of the African Confederation Cup.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the establishment of the African Super Cup between Al-Ahly, champion of the African Champions League, and the champion of the Moroccan Confederation, Borkan, in Qatar, in the first half of the next year 2021.

Moroccan daily Al-Mukhtab said the Super African match will be played on February 17, 2021 in Doha, Qatar, after the CAF was unable to hold the match in December.

The newspaper indicated that the CAF is expected to notify the Qatar Football Association (QFA) of the new date for the African Super Cup, as well as the two teams involved in the match Al-Ahly and Borkan Renaissance.

It is known that Al-Ahly will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup in Doha, scheduled for the period from 1 to 11 February, with the participation of numerous clubs, led by Bayern Munich, German champions of the League of European Champions.

CAF issued an official statement in which it said: “Given the difficulty in reaching an agreement with the Qatar Football Association on the organization of the 2019/2020 Super Cup between Al-Ahly (Egypt) and Nahdet Berkane (Morocco), the Executive Committee decided to celebrate the Super Cup in the first half of 2021 “.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) signed a contract with the Qatar League for the Game to host the Africa Super Match for a period of 3 years starting in 2018, and in fact the 2018 edition was held between the Moroccan Raja and the Tunisian Esperance there and was crowned by Moroccans, then the 2019 version between Zamalek and Tarji and the White Knight was settled, and the 2020 version will be the last. In Qatar, it will reunite Al-Ahly and Burkan Renaissance.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had previously decided to hold the Super Match in Cairo this December, before it officially retracted the decision.
