(Masrawy):
Journalist Mohamed El-Baz said that Safwat Al-Sharif, a former Minister of Information, had contracted the Corona virus, adding that his health condition was critical.
Al-Baz, the host of the program “Akher Al-Nahar”, added on the satellite channel “Al-Nahar”, that there is a great laxity in the application of precautionary measures in the face of the Corona pandemic, noting that the Egyptian people take a “big zero” in the commitment to wear a muzzle and maintain social distancing.
Last June, the Court of Cassation ruled, in a final ruling, to uphold the felony ruling issued to punish the bailiff, with a sentence of 3 years in prison and a fine of 99 million pounds for his conviction for illicit profit, and the ruling included the forfeiture of the bond.
In the previous session, the bailiff turned himself in to order the court committee to hold him until the verdict is delivered.
The Criminal Court of Cairo, presided over by the counselor, Abdel Tawab Ibrahim, had ruled on September 9, 2018 to sanction the former head of the Shura Council, Safwat Al-Sharif, with 3 years in prison and a fine of 99 million 49,974 pounds, acquitting his son Ihab, in his new trial in the illegal profit case.
The bailiff was not jailed after the criminal verdict, due to his pending release from the case, and not attending the verdict hearing.
