Minister of Health: Launch of a website to obtain the Corona vaccine … and priority for these groups

Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, confirmed that the Coronavirus vaccine, which recently arrived in Egypt, will be free, as will the Corona treatment, which the Ministry gives to infected people without financial compensation.

“Zayed” added, in a telephone interview, with the “Egypt Can” program hosted by journalist Ahmed Fayek, on the dmc screen, that the vaccine will be administered in accordance with priorities set by the World Health Organization, and in accordance with each country’s priorities, explaining that Egypt will initially award it to global medical teams. In hospitals of isolation and fever, and not for doctors.

He indicated that the elderly who suffer from chronic diseases and who reside in nursing homes will be among the priorities of the ministry, due to their permanence in social gatherings, noting that it will also be given to those who suffer from serious chronic diseases such as kidney failure and cancer patients.

In the same context, until recently a website dedicated to those interested in this vaccine was created, noting that it will be launched in a few days, so that citizens can register their data in it so that they can communicate with them and inform them of the date of application of the vaccine.

He pointed out that the 100 Million Health Campaign, which was launched a few months ago, is an important database for all citizens of the country, since it is used in all sectors of the country, not only the doctor, so that the groups most in need of medical development projects, for example.

He also indicated that Egypt will be able to meet the vaccine needs of its citizens in the coming days, especially since it has a cold chain that allows it to store 110 million doses of vaccines.

On the other hand, she confirmed that she was one of the first solidarity clinical trial volunteers in the world to test this vaccine, noting that her temperature rose to 38 degrees Celsius in the first two days, and this is normal for vaccines, but her temperature it went up just 0.3 when dosed. Second, when he performed an antibody test on his body 45 days after the first dose, he found that the percentage had increased, while he would undergo further tests after 3, 6 and 12 months to track the level of antibodies.

He added that the Corona vaccine will never conflict with the influenza vaccine, but is expected to be seasonal, given that some people are infected with the virus two and three times, noting that the experiments focused on the safety of the vaccine more. that in its duration, highlighting that it is the fastest vaccine manufactured in history, he pointed out. However, the doses will not be mandatory, but will be given only to whoever wishes.

It revealed that Egypt worked last August to prepare a production line for the vaccine, which earned the praise of the World Health Organization, and consequently, the manufacturing price for Egypt and the rest of African countries is currently being negotiated. .
