Meghan Markle, wife of British Prince Harry, lost her first round of the Supreme Court against the “Mail on Sunday” newspaper, against which Merkel sued her for violating privacy when she published a message she was sending to her father, Thomas Markle.

Markle is suing the publishing company known as Associated News Carrier after publishing five articles in the Mail on Sunday newspaper and three others in the same company-owned online newspaper in 2019.

These articles reprinted excerpts from a handwritten letter to Markle that he had sent to his father, Thomas Markle, in August 2018.

After the Supreme Court ruling was issued, a Markle spokesman said: “Today’s ruling makes it very clear that the essence of the elements of this case has not changed and will continue.” “Although the judge admits that there is a violation of privacy and copyright, we are surprised by this decision, which indicates that there is no dishonorable behavior. We believe that the issue of honesty and integrity is at the core of this problem.

The preliminary hearing of the case took place remotely last week, as the judge was sitting in the Royal Court of Justice of London while lawyers and journalists attended remotely due to the risks of the Corona virus.

During the preliminary hearing, lawyers for the newspaper’s editorial asked Megan’s lawyers to cancel the case. During the hearing, the judge was informed that the Associated Pressper released the letter to satisfy the reader’s curiosity after intentionally arousing much curiosity among the readers.

Lawyers representing Markle said the publisher had caused a “dispute between Markle and his father.” However, representatives of the publisher alleged that the allegations that the newspaper articles were responsible for a dispute between Markle and her father were rejected.
