Ibrahim Abdel Hamid El-Shahat, mayor of the Shubra El-Bahou village in Dakahlia governorate, said some of the villagers threatened to burn graves, protesting the funeral of the deceased doctor in Corona.
Abdel Hamid added, in a telephone conversation with the Kasaoua El-Khalali media, in the program “Evening with Kasaoua” broadcast on “10”, that with the help of the security forces, they tried to reach an agreement with the Villagers to bury the doctor, but they refused and assembled, noting that the body arrived after six o’clock. In the morning, they did not manage to bury him until eleven in the morning, due to people’s refusal to try to discuss and understand the situation.
In the same context, he added that the residents’ refusal was due to their fear of contagion in Koruna, especially since the location of the graves in the village is close to the houses, indicating that the majority of the crowd were young adults. and some of the women who started screaming threatened to burn the graves if the burial process were to take place. .
The Mayor of Shubra El-Bahou said: “Waiting for the situation to calm down, we will go to the husband of the deceased doctor and offer him an apology for what some of the villagers issued, stressing that the husband of the deceased doctor is a famous university professor. for doing good within the town. “
