Maradona’s body arrives at the presidential palace for a last look

The body of legend Diego Maradona has arrived at the presidential palace of his country, where he will be hidden for a day so that his compatriots can take a last look at one of the greatest and most controversial players in football.

Maradona died on Wednesday at the age of 60, after a severe heart attack.

Argentine President Alberto Fernandes immediately announced the duel for a period of three days, before announcing that the body would remain one day instead of the three planned in the presidential palace, specifically on Thursday between six in the morning and four in the afternoon local time, according to the wishes of the family.

His ex-wife Claudia Viavagni and his two daughters Dalma and Ganinia arrived at the presidential palace before midnight on Wednesday Thursday, in addition to many current and former players, especially his teammates who lifted the World Cup in Mexico with him in 1986.

The crowd had begun to stand in long lines in front of the presidential palace “Casa Rosada” to greet the legend.

Attorney John Bruyard stated that the results of the primary autopsy indicated that the cause of death was “secondary acute pulmonary crisis and chronic heart failure.”
