Forward Danny Ings scored the hosts’ only winning goal early in the second minute of the game at Saint Mary’s in Southampton with a superb scissor shot from the far right.
Southampton raised their score after this victory to 29 points, and ranks sixth in the “Premier League” ladder, awaiting the results of some games postponed for other clubs.
While Liverpool suffered the second defeat this season, the “Premier League”, and the score was stopped at 33 points, and leads the league on goal difference against Manchester United, which has a postponed match and therefore the opportunity to take the lead.
