The Barça team came out with a taste of defeat from the stadium of their host Deportivo Alavés (1-1) in the meeting that brought them together on Saturday, on the eighth day of the Spanish Football League.
The owners of the field advanced with a goal from midfielder Luis Rioja in the 31st minute of the first half, after a fatal error by Catalan goalkeeper Norberto Neto.
Deportivo Alavés were hit hard in the 62nd minute by sending off midfielder Peletero Ramayo “Jota”.
Barcelona’s punishment came quickly after two minutes, when French striker Antoine Griezmann scored the tying goal in the 64th minute of the match that was played at the “Mendizorosa” stadium in Vitoria.

Barcelona settled for an orphan point after this disappointing draw, which came after two consecutive defeats, to climb to 8 points after 6 games, and advanced to twelfth place in the league standings.
Deportivo Alavés also raised their score to 8 points, but won it in 8 games, and is 13th in the league standings.
