An armed battle broke out since the early hours of Friday, in the Tajoura area of ​​the capital, Tripoli, between the “security militia” and the “militia of the Lions of Tajoura”, both of the Government of National Accord. The Minister of Defense of the Government of National Accord issued the decision to dissolve the two battalions after clashes broke out between them.

Local sources told Al-Arabiya.net that armed clashes and an exchange of fire with heavy and medium weapons and even tanks shook a populated area in the Bir al-Usta area in the city of Tajoura, east of the capital, Tripoli, causing the closure of the main streets, in the context of the murder of a militiaman. Al-Daman “after he was shot by a group affiliated with the” Leones de Tajoura “militia.

And local media reported that 4 people were killed during these violent battles that still continue until now, including a leader of the “Tajura Lions” militia, amid expectations of its continuation and expansion.

The city of Tajoura is home to several militias loyal to the Government of National Accord, the largest of which is the “security” militia, which is the most powerful and violent militia in Tripoli, as it includes most of the Tajoura militants, in addition of the “Bab Tajura” and “Leones de Tajoura” militias.
