An official source from the Egyptian Football Association confirmed that the Disciplinary Committee decided to sanction the Zamalek player Ferjani Sassi by suspending six matches, including the sanction for obtaining a red card against Al-Masry.
The source – who declined to be named – in private statements, Laila Kora, indicated that the Zamalek Club will receive a penalty notice tomorrow Tuesday.
The source said: “Sassi’s penalty is a six-game suspension, including the penalty for getting a red card, and Zamalek will be notified on Tuesday.”
He continued: “The Disciplinary Committee believes that the punishment in such cases is discretionary and has made its decision on this basis.”
And Sassi had been sent off in the face of Zamalek with Al-Masry in the league days ago, before he was agitated by Amin Omar, the ruling of the match when he opposed the decision.
The source added: “Imam Ashour will be suspended, but his presence at Smouha’s meeting with the Egyptian Cup is legal, because Zamalek has not yet been notified of the sanctions.”
He concluded: “The lesson is after notifying the team of decisions and penalties.”
It should be noted that the match between Zamalek and Al-Masry witnessed clashes between the players after the end of the confrontation, in which Imam Ashour was a part.
