Al-Jarallah added in a televised statement today, Friday, that “there are close steps to be announced to move forward into the future and turn the page on the dispute.”
On the role of the adviser to the president of the United States, Jared Kushner, in this reconciliation, Al-Jarallah said that Kushner held talks with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Doha and maintained contacts with Kuwait, and these efforts “contributed to the crystallization of this agreement with the coordination and support of the brothers in the GCC countries “.
Kushner visited with a team of his aides a few days ago in Saudi Arabia and Doha, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa.
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt announced that they would sever their relations with Qatar and impose a blockade, and had established 13 conditions to reverse the blockade and break relations.
