Kuki, the Atlético de Madrid player, said Barcelona’s Lionel Messi will face fierce competition to play in the starting lineup if he moves into the ranks of Rujiblancos.
Messi was linked to leaving Barcelona last summer (his contract expires at the end of this season), and according to some reports, Atlético de Madrid was one of the clubs that took an interest in signing the 33-year-old.
During an interview with Radio Cadena Ser, Kouki was asked about his opinion on Messi’s departure to Atlético de Madrid or the return of French Antoine Griezmann, a Barcelona player, to the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Cookie said: “If Griezmann returns to Atlético, his participation will not be easy. The Frenchman will find great competition for his position.”
And he added: “The same applies to Messi. Leo will have a great competition to play in Atlético’s starting lineup.”
Griezmann joined Barcelona during the summer transfer window for the 19/20 season, coming from Atlético de Madrid.
Griezmann did not provide the levels that the Barça fans had been waiting for since his arrival at the Camp Nou, since the world champion with the French team represented his club in 57 games in various tournaments (he scored 17 goals and made 5 successful passes).
