Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp revealed his position on the future of the team’s star, Mohamed Salah, following a statement he made recently during his interview with the newspaper “AS”.
Salah, during his interview with the Spanish newspaper “AS”, hinted that the door is available for Spain, Real Madrid or Barcelona, to sign him, despite his contract with the Reds until 2023.
In this regard, Klopp said in statements made by the British newspaper “The Guardian” that the only reason for Salah’s departure is the climate at the club, highlighting: “No player can be forced to stay against his will.”
He added: “What other reason can a player leave? Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world, the club pays good money, we may not pay more like the world’s clubs, but we pay well, we have an exciting stadium with outstanding fans. “
He continued, “We have a fan base around the world.”
Klopp continued: “You can’t force the players to stay. If one of the players wants to leave, we may not stop them. I just want to understand why the player wants to leave.”
On welcoming Salah to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona, Klopp replied: “The only thing there is is that these clubs may be interested and he has not ruled it out. If you ask any player in the world not to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona if you can play there one day, you imagine it. that”.
He finished: “All he said is that we will see him while he is in the hands of the club. This is 100% true and related to having conversations about his future. Salah is a very important player for me and that is clear.”
Salah had moved to the ranks of Liverpool from the Italian capital, Rome, in the summer of 2017, to cost the Egyptian star the coffers of the English club (48 million euros).
Since his signing, Salah has become the centerpiece of Juergen Klopp’s lineup, as he is currently the Premier League scorer with 13 goals after participating in 13 Premier League matches.
The 28-year-old has already won the Premier League Golden Boot for two consecutive seasons, specifically (2017-2018) with 32 goals, and (2018-2019) with 22 goals.
Regarding group titles, Salah won four titles, starting with the European Champions League, then the Super Europe edition and the 2019 Club World Cup, and Mo won the Premier League title last season after an absence of 30 years.
