Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transportation, said that the state is implementing a network of fast trains to connect the state and all its regions, referring to the development of the current network, which reaches a length of 10,000 km, in addition of the use of green transport represented by express trains operating on electricity, adding in a wiretapping program «The story» through MBC Egypt, on Saturday night, will be an express electric train line linking Hurghada, Safaga and Qena to transport phosphates and aluminum and imports from the port of Safaga through trains and another purpose to serve tourists.

In response to engineer Naguib Sawiris, who asked about the implementation of the express train from Ain Sokhna to the new administrative capital, the minister explained: “Naguib Sawiris wants to travel to Hurghada to take El Gouna with them.

He continued, “Orascom (owned by the Sawiris family) is participating with the German Siemens in the implementation of the project,” explaining that the state is implementing this express train network as it provides better service to users, in addition to using clean energy. .

The Transport Minister indicated that the second phase of the express train line will extend to Hurghada, Safaga, Qena and Luxor, to be used in the areas of freight and tourist transport, adding that in another stage the train will link the city of October 6 with the West Nile region, and will unite all the new cities, highlighting that the train will be available to all citizens.

Entrepreneur Naguib Sawiris had tweeted, saying: “Does anyone understand why this express train is from Ain Sokhna to Al-Alamein … not Cairo, for example, or Hurghada?”
