Judicial sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the Prosecutor’s Office now has the right to request the summons of Mortada Mansour, former president of the Zamalek Club, to investigate him in the reports presented against him on the incidents of insults and defamation or on financial infractions and administrative of the period of his management of the club, after the Official Gazette published in its issue issued today Monday, the decision of the President on the dissolution of the sixth session of the incomplete session of the Council, as of Sunday, December 20, with which the Council completes its first term after 5 calendar years have elapsed from the date of its first meeting.
Mortada Mansour’s parliamentary immunity prevented her questioning, especially after parliament refused to allow the prosecution to hear her statements.
The sources stated that the Public Ministry has the authority to determine the date of the investigation with it, according to the course of the investigation.
The Public Ministry had received complaints in which Mansour was accused of insults and defamation, as well as complaints and violations referred to the prosecution by the Ministry of Youth and Sports that indicated the existence of manipulations and irregularities that were examined by commissions attached to the ministry and other control bodies.
