Manuel José, a former veteran coach of the Al-Ahly team, said there was a suspicion of a penalty against the red team in the Wadi Degla match.
Al-Ahly achieved a valuable victory at the expense of Wadi Degla, with two unanswered goals, in a match held at the “Cairo Stadium” at the end of the 24th week of the Egyptian We League competition.
José added in statements on the screen of “Al-Ahly” on Friday night: “There is a suspicion of a penalty kick against Al-Ahly, specifically in the opportunity of Marwan Hamdi with Rami Rabia, the defender of Al-Ahly” .
And the Portuguese coach continued: “Wadi Degla had a correct goal from my point of view, the refereeing was not going well.”
The match between Al-Ahly and Wadi Degla witnessed a controversial ball in the second half, specifically after Tigris defender Khaled Reda scored a goal for his team, but Jihad Greisha, the match referee, annulled it on the outside game after reverting to VAR video technology.
Majed Sami, owner of the Wadi Degla Club, also came out to express his anger, saying on his Facebook page: “The shameful technique of Egyptian football.” (See details)
It’s worth noting that Al-Ahly continued to lead the league with 65 points, 20 points behind Zamalek and Pyramids, who rank second and third in the competition’s leaderboard.
