Japanese actress Yuko Takeuchi, who won many awards, died at the age of forty and her body was found at her home in Tokyo.
According to Japanese media, the police have launched an investigation into Takeuchi’s death, and they suspect that the actress, a mother of two, had committed suicide.
It is reported that her husband, actor Taiki Nakabayashi, was found at their home in “Shibuya Ward”. She was then taken to the hospital where her death was confirmed.
Takeuchi was a popular actress in Japan, having appeared in numerous movies and television series during her career.
In a statement, Stardust Promotion, the actress’s artistic agent, said she was “shocked by the news and sad to hear.”
Takeuchi gained fame for his role in the 1998 Japanese horror film “Ringo,” which was re-released in English in 2002 by Hollywood in the film “The Ring.”
He also played the role of detective Sherlock Holmes in the series “Miss Sherlock” produced by the US network “Home Box Office” in 2018, which aired in several countries, including the United States.
For three years in a row, between 2004 and 2007, Takeuchi won the Best Actress award at the Japan Academy Awards.
Variety reports that along with her long list of acting accomplishments, Takeuchi’s image of a warm, smiling, modest woman has made her popular with advertisers.
Although suicide has not been confirmed in Takeuchi’s case, it was the cause of the death of several Japanese talents recently, including actress “Si Ashina” earlier this month, actor “Haruma Miura” last July and star of wrestling. “Hannah Kimura last May.
