Councilor Nader Saad, spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said that the World Health Organization is the only body authorized to issue data on the epidemiological situation in addition to the official state authorities, because it has representative offices in most of the countries.

Saad confirmed, during a telephone interview with the Sada Al-Balad channel’s “On My Responsibility” program, that the world organization is aware of the health situation in Egypt and praised the precautionary measures.

He indicated that the epidemiological situation will improve if the precautionary measures are complied with, and that the situation is also expected to develop, noting that the number of injured has doubled in two weeks to 911 cases today.

He noted that the new vaccine contributes to reducing symptoms, but will not prevent infection by “Corona” if precautionary measures are not followed, and explained that the vaccine reduces the burden of symptoms in chronic cases.

On discussing a decision to ban curfews during New Year’s Eve, he said that the Crisis Committee had not discussed anything regarding the ban decision before that, explaining that the committee would consider during the start of next week and that he would decide to take action on curfew.

He noted that the tourism and aviation sectors are among the sectors most affected by the Coronavirus, adding: “We expected the epidemiological situation to improve by the end of 2020, but this did not happen, especially as we are currently facing a second strain of Corona. ”.
