The Ministry of Local Development published the first unified service guide at the governorate level, for the provinces of Qena and Sohag, as part of the Local Development Program in Upper Egypt.
The unified guide, the first of its kind, included procedures, controls and fees for the issuance of new construction licenses, provided that the term to issue the license is only 30 days.
Masrawy reviews the procedures and documents required to obtain a new construction license as follows:
The required documents included a site validity statement, a license application, a national identification card, and 3 copies of the approved engineering drawings.
It also included the submission of an insurance document with a copy of the construction plans approved by the Egyptian Society Civil Liability Insurance Office for the hazards of construction work, the study of soil and math notes, the study of ground and math notes for works valued at a million pounds or more, or a building consisting of 4 floors or more.
