The Egyptian Medicines Authority has recalled several batches of five pharmaceutical preparations that are used as antibiotics, as part of the authority’s effort to improve the concepts of preserving the efficacy, quality and safety of the medicine, as well as to strengthen the systems of control and monitoring and control of the local drug market. And preserve the health of citizens.

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, spokesman for the Egyptian Medicines Authority, stated that the authority issued Circular No. 20 of 2020 addressed to the health affairs directorates of the provinces with the aim of ordering their pharmacy departments to quickly control and seize what may exist in the local market and government units of the different operations of five pharmaceutical preparations. , To take all inventory measurements in government units.

He stressed that the Medicines Authority will take all legal measures against those who violate these instructions once the period indicated for the withdrawal of the preparation has expired, and that the pharmaceutical inspection will monitor pharmacies, distribution companies and stores to ensure that these quantities and items are seized and destroyed, in order to preserve the health of citizens.
