The President directed the immediate start of the establishment of the intelligent transportation system, in accordance with the highest international standards. With the objective of achieving security and protection of the movement of citizens at the state level and applying modern technology to manage the road network and the centers that link cities and logistics areas with commercial ports in the Mediterranean and Red Bahrain; This opens up new economic horizons and maximizes the benefit of the state by linking and integrating its infrastructure.
President El-Sisi also led the expansion of the implementation of the early stages of the new system; Include 20 main axes, gradually according to the merit of performance, with the training and qualification of the cadres of the competent authorities to ensure the efficient operation and the best use of the system.
The meeting witnessed a review of the steps and stages of the implementation of the intelligent transport system, which is carried out in cooperation and coordination between the different competent authorities of the country, such as the ministries of defense, interior and transport, and has The objective is to improve the efficiency of traffic liquidity and the movement of citizens and goods through the application of modern technology. Assist and support travelers and provide them with up-to-date and up-to-date information on road conditions and traffic density, with the aim of reducing congestion and congestion, improving transportation systems and saving time, effort and energy.
The new intelligent transportation system relies on advanced electronic systems and communications to manage and operate traffic, monitor roads, collect information, locate choke sites, monitor accidents and guide vehicle drivers.
The start of the system’s implementation in its early stages will include the most intensive and mobile roads for citizens, including the Cairo-Alexandria desert, the Cairo-Ismailia desert and the Shubra-Banha Al-Hurr roads.
The impact of the implementation of the new system was presented in terms of achieving the safety of users and road axes. The system is expected to help reduce the number of accidents by up to 40%, as well as improve the operational efficiency of the roads and reduce travel time. This will maximize the benefit of the state of the new road and hub network.
