Bahrain’s Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, said today, Monday, that establishing relations with Israel is a protection of the supreme interests of the country and the protection of the state.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry quoted on its Twitter account that the minister said that “if Palestine is our Arab cause, Bahrain is our fateful problem.”
He stressed that declaring support for peace with Israel is not a deviation from the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinians.
“We are dealing with persistent dangers that we were able to avoid most of them,” he emphasized, emphasizing that fateful challenges have come to the region and cannot be ignored.
The Bahraini minister said: “Iran chose to impose hegemony in various ways and posed a threat to our security,” explaining: “We are in an economic and security situation that cannot be delayed.”
He noted that Bahrain’s strategy is based on the existence of strong alliances in the face of dangers, noting that his country has the Arab and Gulf depth and its international partners.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump announced that Bahrain and Israel have agreed to sign a peace agreement.
Trump, King Hamad bin Isa of Bahrain, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to conclude a peace treaty between Bahrain and Israel.
Trump called the agreement between Bahrain and Israel to sign a peace agreement a “historic moment.” Trump said it was “the second peace agreement between Israel and an Arab country in less than 30 days”, after signing an agreement with the UAE last month.
