Ibrahim Abdel Nasser, the senior high school student, fresh seller, revealed the details of a call from Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, to grant him a scholarship to study at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Alexandria.
Nasser added, during a telephone interview with the “On My Responsibility” program, broadcast on the Sada Al-Balad channel, that the Minister of Higher Education offered him a scholarship at the University of Alexandria and demanded that he continue to excel.
And he went on to say that he did not expect officials to be interested in contacting him and awarding a scholarship to study at the Faculty of Medicine, saying, “This is a provision from Almighty God.”
He continued: “I am not one of the pioneers of social networks, and I created a Facebook account during the Corona virus crisis to find out what is happening in terms of news,” explaining: “Social networks lead to wasting time.”
He noted that since fourth grade, he has worked with his father in the sale of fresh produce during the summer holidays, revealing that his father works in the sale of fresh produce and they have a greengrocer, pledging to continue helping his father and selling fresh.
He added that a person made a video of him while selling fresh, and told him that he was a high school student and that he had achieved a score of 408.5 percentage points at 99.6% and that he wanted to enroll in medical school.
