Holly Hinton, 23, of Market Harboro, Leicestershire, was experiencing regular menstrual periods when she began experiencing stronger cramps than usual during the closure of Costa Coffee, where she works, earlier this year.
As the pain mounted, her anxious mother broke down and called an ambulance, and the hospital doctors told the shocked husband that Holly was 41 weeks pregnant and about to give birth.
Holly, who was asymptomatic, was rushed to a hospital in Britain, where her son Theo was born at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, by cesarean section.
