Last Monday and Tuesday, the Facebook site was set on fire with testimonies from girls against a psychiatrist whose clinic is located in the city of Tanta in the Gharbia governorate, who accused him of harassing them and accusing them of hugging and touching them, claiming that he is a method used in clinics and medical centers in Great Britain and Austria.

Before the torrent of testimonies of girls under the hashtag “Support for the Victims of Doctor Tanta”, and the communication delivered by 4 girls with the help of two lawyers Hisham Hashem and Samuel Tharwat, who assumed the defense of the girls who harassed them, the security forces of district 1 of Tanta arrested the doctor “A. A”, and confronted him with the complaints registered against him on social networks, after listening to the testimonies of the girls, who showed the emails exchanged between them and the doctor.

The case began on Facebook through the testimonies of girls who went to the clinic of a psychiatrist in Tanta, in which they confirmed that he harassed them when trying to hug them, claiming that “hugging them” is a psychological treatment for depression and anxiety . One of the girls, who did not reveal her identity, wrote that it was She suffers from symptoms of depression, so she went to the aforementioned doctor’s office, and was surprised that he closed the door with the key during one of the psychotherapy sessions, and when I asked him why, he said: “So that you stay in your comfort even if you come and go, do not be ashamed.”

She added: “He was making strange requests of me. He once told me to dress sexy and stand in front of mirrors, to enjoy your beauty and my self-image, and to boost your confidence, send me these pictures, and he fooled me that my self-confidence is destroyed and that I must do this to show him that I am following the correct treatment. ” She rejected his request, just like she rejected another request, which is to hug him. She said: “She told me that hugs are a treatment method in developed countries, but I refused because I felt that I was going further.”

Another testimony was recorded by a girl who was treating psychologically in her clinic, she said: “I am the subject, I do not develop with myself to the degree that the girls spoke, but in the first session in the middle of the conversation she asked me daring questions such as what makes me refuse to have sex with someone, and I saw that this was more frank. Another application session shows pictures of Leah in my hair, mostly because I was talking to him about wanting to remove my veil, so I thought this would break the barrier of my veil, nothing more.

These testimonies were hardly published, other testimonies of girls who wrote that they had been subjected to this type of situation, but chose to remain silent for fear that society would stigmatize them for being mentally ill and some of them hide their illnesses even from their parents . The day after the publication of these testimonies, the names of the two lawyers Samuel Tharwat and Hisham Hashem appeared, who published their cell phone number on Facebook and asked the victims to file a complaint and not be silent about these attacks. In fact, 4 girls contacted them who encouraged them to file a complaint against the doctor who described them as harassing, and one day on Thursday the report was presented and testimonies were heard from the girls who had proven their complaints through the electronic messages exchanged between them and the doctor.

Immediately, the Western security services issued the decision to arrest the doctor, and he is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office.
