A legal source in the committee formed to examine the violations of the Zamalek Club, by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that the committee was formed in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 434 of 2020, and in accordance with this decision and its Attributions, the Minister of Youth and Sports has the right to dissolve the Board of Directors, in case financial irregularities are proven legally after examination and investigation, in accordance with the text of article 53 of the Unified Financial Regulation of Clubs
The legal source clarified that when applying the article to what was discovered of serious financial irregularities at Zamalek Club, the article stipulated that the minister has the right to take all legal measures towards the board of directors, including the dissolution of the board of directors for the current board’s control of club funds that have become untrustworthy, according to the report of the Financial and Administrative Inspection Commission, by which serious financial violations committed by the current Council were found.
Regarding the statements of Hani Zadeh, member of the Board of Directors of the Zamalek Club, about the absence of financial violations in the club, the legal source of the committee formed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports said: “Hani Zadia tried to reduce the serious violations mentioned in the committee’s report, and mentioned one of them, for example, which is the seizure of club funds by failing to pay the electricity bills, and claiming that the incident was exaggerated, and that its truth is a single receipt of 167 thousand pounds, not one million two hundred thousand pounds that was paid twice, and this is a misleading statement of truth and reality, since the truth is that there are 8 receipts for a total of one million two hundred thousand. EGP, this amount was seized by paying it once to the power company, and someone in the club recovered the amount, and the board of directors is trying to pay the amount to the power company again, to show that the mistake is the fault of the power company , not from the club.
The legal source added that this incident is the least of the facts that the committee discovered through its examination and inspection of the club, and the committee’s report still includes many surprises that will be announced soon.
