Artist Hisham Ismail confirmed that he had been a member of the Zamalek Club since the 1980s, indicating that he had been a member of the club since childhood and began encouraging the white team in the mid-1980s.

Hisham Ismail said on the Zamalek channel: “I remember the first game I went to watch at the stadium to support the team, which was in front of the contractors, and the white team secured it with three.”

He added that his father was one of the strongest members of the Al-Ahly Club and despite this, he had an active membership in the Zamalek Club, explaining, “My mother was encouraging Zamalek, so I encouraged him.”

He continued: “I go to the stadium to support Zamalek at all times and was present at Cairo Stadium in the Tunis Esperance match,” adding that he expected Zamalek to win Esperance by three after the Tunisian team scored the goal of progressing in the quarterfinals of the African Champions League.

“By the time he scored Esperance’s goal, I was sure Zamalek would return to the match and win a huge number of goals, which is what happened.”

He continued: “Zamalek always surprised us with his championships at a time when some expected him to fail, and I was very happy with the Egyptian and African titles last February.”
