Sudan’s Sovereignty Council Vice President Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, “Hemedti,” said on Friday that his country wants to establish relations with Israel, not normalization, to benefit from its advanced capabilities.

Hemedti called to find out the opinions of the Sudanese street on the establishment of relations with Israel. He said: “The Sudanese people decide after a public opinion poll. This is democracy, and those who refuse to establish relations with Israel, who authorized them to do so?”

Hemedti said, in a televised interview from his residence in Juba, “Israel is developed and we want to see where we can benefit,” adding: “The whole world is working with Israel, and the big countries are working with Israel in terms of technology and farming”.

And Hemedti added: “Frankly, we need Israel and we are not afraid of disappearance. We want relations and not normalization, and we are walking down this path.”

He continued: “The normalization with Israel, the people came in and we, Israel, have no borders with it, and it is true that the Palestinian issue is important, and the Palestinian people are supposed to support them in their problems, but now we are no more closer than people who work with relations with Israel. “

Hemedti explained: “We are no closer to them. Israel has borders with Egypt, and we have no borders. Jordan has borders with Jordan, and Jordan has 3 million Palestinians, and there may be more.”

He went on to say: “Like it or not, the issue of removing Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism is linked to Israel, and this is what has become clear to us, and we hope it is not linked to relations with Israel. “.

The head of the Sudan Sovereignty Council concluded: “We are not talking about normalization, but about relationships, and we benefit from them, and wish for mutual consent and consultation with all people, and people see the interest of the Sudanese. We are tired. Of being under siege for many years and of all the conditions that we have met to get off the list of state sponsors of terrorism. “

Estimates also indicate that Sudan is demanding more aid than the Americans offered in exchange for Israel’s recognition.

Last Wednesday, the Islamic Academy of Fiqh in Sudan issued a fatwa prohibiting normalization with Israel in all fields.
