Helwan University rector reveals to Al-Ahram Gate the fact that studies were suspended following the death of an engineering student in Corona

Dr. Majid Najm, rector of Helwan University, revealed that studies at the university were suspended for the next few days after the death of a student of the fourth division of the Faculty of Engineering, affected by the Corona virus, indicating that the study was transferred to the university only “online” for 48 hours.

Najm added, in exclusive statements to Al-Ahram Gate, that the decision to transfer studies to the university is “online”, to sterilize and disinfect the university alone, and no more than that, indicating that the students appeared last time ago 10 days in the faculty with the university midterms.

The rector of Helwan University stressed that the faculty is committed to implementing all strict precautionary measures to prevent the Corona virus and its spread in the university, indicating that the university is committed to the decisions of the Supreme Council of Universities in the first semester of the current academic year 2020-2021, and that the exams so far are punctual.

The Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will hold its ordinary meeting tomorrow at Fayoum University, to discuss the universities’ preparations for the exams of the first semester of the academic year ongoing and the latest developments of the Corona virus during the next phase.
