Today, Saturday, the General Meteorological Authority issued a statement warning of the expected weather in the republic during the period between Sunday, December 13, 2020 and Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
The statement indicated that the country is expected to witness during this period of a state of instability in climatic conditions, according to the following:
Sunday, December 13:
Increase in temperatures in most areas, up to rates above normal, with values ranging between 3-4 degrees Celsius.
Light to medium rainfall in areas of the northwest coast.
Wind and sand activity increased in areas of the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, the canal cities and northern Upper Egypt, leading to reduced visibility.
Monday, December 14:
A drop in temperature in most areas to values ranging from 3-4 degrees Celsius, to return to normal levels.
Moderate to heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms, in areas of the northwest coasts.
Light to moderate rainfall in areas of the northeast coast, Lower Egypt and the Gulf of Aqaba.
Wind and sand activity increased in areas of the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt, causing reduced visibility.
Disruption of maritime traffic in the Mediterranean Sea.
Tuesday, December 15:
Another drop in temperatures in most regions to be lower than normal at values ranging from 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Medium to heavy rainfall, sometimes thunderstorms, in areas of the northwest coast.
Moderate rainfall in areas of Lower Egypt and the canal cities.
Wind and sand activity increased in areas of the northeast coast and Sinai, leading to reduced visibility.
Disruption of maritime traffic in the Mediterranean Sea.
Wednesday December 16:
Moderate to heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms, in areas of the northeast coast.
Average rainfall in areas of the northwest coast.
Light to moderate rainfall in areas of Lower Egypt, the Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt and areas of South Sinai.
And in Greater Cairo:
Greater Cairo is expected to witness a state of instability in climatic conditions, in accordance with the following:
Sunday, December 13: the temperature rises 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal levels.
Increased wind and sand activity in some areas, reducing horizontal visibility.
Monday, December 14: temperatures drop by 3-4 degrees Celsius, returning to normal levels.
Increased wind and sand activity in some areas, reducing horizontal visibility.
Tuesday, December 15: Another drop in temperatures to be lower than normal, in values that range between 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Increased wind and sand activity in some areas, reducing horizontal visibility.
Wednesday December 16: Moderate rain in some areas.
