Health: 346 new cases of coronavirus and 8 deaths were registered

The Ministry of Health and Population announced today, Monday, that 97 of those infected with the Corona virus have been discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical attention and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus to 2,172 cases to date.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said the number of cases whose laboratory results turned from positive to negative for the Corona virus (Covid-19) increased 2,655 cases, including 2,172 recovered.

He added that 346 new cases were positive for laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the surveillance and investigation procedures carried out by the Ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 8 new cases.

“Mujahid” said that all registered HIV positive cases in isolation and quarantine hospitals are subject to medical care, according to guidelines from the World Health Organization.

“Mujahid” stated that the total number recorded in Egypt with the new Corona virus until today, Monday, is 9,746 cases, including 2,172 cases that have been cured and discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 533 deaths.

Today, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, held her regular meeting with medical personnel in isolation hospitals through videoconferencing technology, to follow the progress of work and ensure the provision of all needs and the monitoring the application of updated treatment protocols and infection control standards.

During the meeting, the Minister ensured that medical personnel followed precautionary measures and the availability of adequate strategic needs for personal protective supplies for medical personnel in protective suits for the unilateral use of “guanitas” and joints . The central laboratories, the ambulance service and the youth hostel, which contribute to the speed and ease of circulating patient information electronically, and to meeting the needs of each hospital.

The Minister also followed the strategy of transferring clinically simple cases and cases that responded to treatment protocols after the disappearance of clinical symptoms with the positive continuity of his analyzes, from isolation hospitals to some hotels and university cities and youth hostels, where medical follow-up is completed for them until their test results turn negative and they complete their recovery.

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all provinces, follows the situation with respect to the “emerging crown” virus first hand and takes all necessary precautions against any virus or infectious disease, since the direct line has been assigned “105” and “15335” to receive inquiries from citizens about an emerging Corona virus and infectious diseases.
