The ministry noted that the number of cases whose laboratory results have been transformed from positive to negative for Corona virus (Covid-19) has increased to 1,450 cases, including 1,114 recovered, adding that 227 new cases have been tested that have positive laboratory tests for the virus, they are all Egyptians. The Ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures, in accordance with WHO guidelines, indicate the death of 13 cases.
He said that all registered positive cases for the virus in isolation hospitals are subject to medical attention, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, and that the total number registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Saturday is of 4,319 cases, including 1,114 cases that were cured and discharged from isolation hospitals, and 307 cases of death.
Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, held two meetings today, through videoconferencing technology, the first with medical teams in 5 isolation hospitals: Abu Khalifa, Al-Ajmi, May 15, Agouza and the Hospital Al-Nujaila, and the second with representatives of the Ministry of Health in the governorates of the Republic; This is to verify the availability of all needs and to monitor the application of updated treatment protocols and infection control standards, and the availability of a sufficient amount of labor, in addition to the availability of adequate stock of preventive and medical supplies. The Minister also assured the health status of the cases in the youth hostel, hotels and university cities of Clinically simple cases and those cases that have responded to treatment protocols, where they are followed until the results of their analyzes become negative. and complete their recovery.
In the context of evaluating the efforts made by all medical teams to deal with the emerging corona virus, the Minister thanked all employees of fever hospitals, one of the most important walls of infectious diseases, for their great efforts to address the spread of the new coronavirus in Egypt; and its effective role in the early detection of positive cases, explaining that fever hospitals have received more than 900 thousand citizens of diseases, either those who frequent to receive medical services or are suspected of being infected with the new Corona virus, with an average daily frequency of more than 15 thousand citizens, since the appearance of the virus in Egypt until now.
He pointed out that the 47 feverish hospitals in all the provinces of the Republic, classify cases of disease and adjust to the definition of the situation, take wipes and provide medical care according to the updated treatment protocol, with a capacity of 4,258 beds. , including 227 intensive care beds, which were being prepared to become gradually isolation hospitals, all medical services are provided, from conducting the necessary tests and diagnosing the condition to isolation, the provision of treatment and follow-up of cases after recovery and discharge, in addition to providing scientific research services.
He added that 50 training courses on infection control standards and protocols were organized to treat suspected and infected cases of emerging coronavirus, in order to increase the professionalism of workers in those hospitals.
The Minister also thanked the employees of the General Administration of Quarantine at Airports and Ports for their efforts to debate and examine approximately half a million citizens from abroad, from mid-January until the suspension of flights.
The Minister noted that the Ministry of Health and Population received 3,229 Egyptian citizens stranded abroad in various countries of the world after the decision to suspend flights, within the framework of the comprehensive state plan to face the repercussions of the crisis of the new Corona virus, and in line with the health and precautionary measures related to entry through the country’s ports, where 52 medical teams examined and followed up on the next citizens and provided them with all medical and preventive services at their quarantined places of residence. , until the end of the 14-day quarantine period.
The Minister called on all citizens and owners of chronic diseases, especially older women and pregnant women, to adhere to social divergence, reduce contact and adhere to preventive measures, in addition to frequent liquids to drink in the period between iftar and suhoor, and ensure a healthy diet that strengthens the immune system, emphasizing that you are in If you feel any symptoms, you should immediately call the hotlines 105 and 15335, or communicate through WhatsApp, the Ministry mobile application, or go to the nearest fever hospital or issue to receive medical service.
