Two official sources from the Ministry of Health and Population told Masrawy that the number of new infections with the coronavirus is still expected to increase in Egypt in the coming days.

This is in addition to the daily increase in the number of injured and deceased registered by the Ministry of Health, the last of which was yesterday, with 1,226 new positive cases and 53 deaths, bringing the total registered up to Sunday to 132,541 cases. , including 11,015 cured cases and 7,405. A case of death.

In turn, Dr. Muhammad Hassani, Undersecretary of Health for Public Health Initiatives, said that no one can talk about how far we have passed the peak of infections in the second wave, except after its end, as happened in the first wave. during June and July.

Hassani added to Masrawy: “No one can accurately predict the future peak, because all the forecasts in the world were based on the period in which the peak ended, which means that we know the peak retroactively.”

Daily injuries peaked in the first wave last June, when they surpassed 1,700 cases, but gradually declined to about 100 cases weeks ago, before rising again in the second wave of the pandemic.
