The Media Center of the Council of Ministers said that the video that circulated on some social media pages about the imposition of a ban on the movement of citizens in all governorates of the country as of tomorrow, Wednesday, December 30, 2020, is incorrect.

The Cabinet denied that news, noting that no decisions have been issued in this regard, and that the circulating video is old, dating back to the period of the first wave of the Corona virus, noting that the decisions made by the Crisis Management Committee of Corona during its last meeting did not include the imposition of a curfew, although it included a series of Measures to limit the spread of the virus and preserve public health, the most outstanding of which is to require all citizens to wear protective masks , with an immediate fine to the offenders, as well as stopping any activity, celebration or festivity during the next period, and in case new decisions are made, they will be officially announced. .

Precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus include canceling all New Year celebrations, while taking steps to shut down any facility hosting any celebration, in addition to a total ban on wedding and funeral tents and any gathering, and it has also been emphasized to stop any activity, celebration or festivity during the next season, and the complete closure of the event rooms, as well as the complete emphasis on all hotels regarding the numbers specified in the wedding. And it continues: being alone in the open spaces.

The immediate fine will also be applied to offenders, starting next Sunday, corresponding to January 3, 2021, to serve as a clear message that the State faces violations of precautionary measures with the utmost severity and firmness, provided that the immediate fine is for people who do not apply precautionary measures and do not wear a muzzle, as will happen. An immediate fine of EGP 50, and in case of non-payment, the offender will be immediately transferred to the competent prosecutor’s office to take the necessary measures in this regard.

We call on all the different media and social media users to investigate the accuracy and objectivity in the publication of news and to communicate with the interested authorities to ensure before publishing information that is not based on any fact and generates confusion in public opinion and angers citizens.
