On Thursday, the Public Ministry ordered the imprisonment of Hanin Hussam and Mawada Al-Adham, known as the “Tik Tok Girls”, for 4 days, pending investigations, on charges of “human trafficking”.

Last Tuesday, the Economic Court of Appeal of Cairo ruled the innocence of the two defendants, and 3 others, of the charge of violation of family values ​​and principles, reversing the ruling of the Cairo Economic Court for Minors Crimes to punish them with two years in prison and a fine of 300 thousand pounds, and keeping the fine only for “Adham”.

The two girls faced 9 charges, after which the Prosecutor’s Office referred them, along with 3 others, to criminal proceedings, namely, violating the values ​​and principles of the Egyptian family and society, and their participation with others in attracting and exploiting girls through direct transmission, committing the crime of human trafficking and receiving bank transfers from the solicitation department in exchange for what they achieved from Watching and posting videos that incite immorality to increase the percentage of followers, inciting immorality and their membership in the WhatsApp group to receive allowances for the exploitation of girls, and to encourage adolescent girls to stream similar videos, escape justice, and try to hide and encrypt their phones and accounts.
