Today, Thursday, the British newspaper “The Guardian” announced a list of the 100 best players for 2020.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah ranked eighth in the world behind: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) – Lionel Messi (Barcelona) – Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) – Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – Erling Haaland (Borussia) Dortmund) – Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain).
As for an Arab, Salah ranked first among the Arab players ahead of former Chelsea and Ajax star Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, who came in 60th. On the other hand, the other Moroccan, Ashraf Hakimi, the Inter Milan player, ranked 76th, followed by the Algerian star, Riyad Mahrez, a Manchester City player.
The list included the presence of a player from an Arab team, Argentine Ever Banega, captain of the Saudi youth squad and former professional in Seville.
At the level of African players, Salah came in second, behind his colleague Sadio Mane, who is fifth.
Arsenal striker and Gabon star Per Emerick Aubameyang was third, ranking 36, Hakim Ziyech fourth, and Senegalese defender and Napoli player Calido Coulibaly fifth, ranking 62.
