Education Minister Dr. Tariq Shawky said that there are 14 governorates whose schools are free from any infection with the Coronavirus.
He added, in press releases, that the ministry understands parents’ concerns about their student children over the spread of the new Corona virus in schools, and emphasized that the ministry reassures all parents to follow the unprecedented precautionary measures applied. in all the schools of the Republic.
On Wednesday, the minister announced that the total number of Corona injuries monitored in educational facilities so far has reached 49 out of a total of 25 million people moving within the educational system.
He explained that the highest number of injuries that were detected is concentrated in the Cairo governorate, where 19 cases of corona were monitored, while there are governorates, one case was monitored in each of them as follows (one in Beni Suef , one in Qena, one in Minya and one in Port Said., and one in Gharbia).
The minister indicated that these numbers are very reassuring, and that all the injured do not present serious symptoms and their owners recover easily, adding that the World Health Organization confirmed the need to open schools; Because it is not dangerous, since it has been confirmed that the incidence of corona among children does not exceed 0.05%.
It is worth mentioning that the new academic year 2020/2021 began on October 17 in 60,000 schools nationwide.
