Gold prices in Egypt witnessed a slight decline of about two pounds per gram at the end of trading on Monday, April 27, 2020, the fourth day of Ramadan, the first business day of goldsmith shops, after returning of the official holidays yesterday, as prices were stable for three consecutive days. The last of which was yesterday.
Gold prices fell today, affected by the drop in the price of an ounce worldwide in the metal exchange, as the price of a 21 gram gold, sold and traded in Egypt, fell around 748 pounds without the hand of work, with a fall of two pounds from yesterday’s prices.
Gold prices in Egypt
The website “Al-Youm Al-Ikhbariya” is monitoring gold prices in Egypt today, in goldsmith shops that started operating at half past ten in the morning, and closed at five in the afternoon according to the decision of the Council of Ministers, since the prices were as follows:
- The price of the 21 gauge was around 748 pounds.
- The price of 18 carats registered around 641 pounds.
- The price of 24 carats registered around 855 pounds.
- The price of a pound of gold registered around 5984 pounds.
- The price of an ounce was $ 1,720.
Gold fell globally
Against the background of low gold prices on Monday locally, the price of an ounce fell earlier in the week by around $ 8, to register $ 1,720 today, compared to around $ 1,728 yesterday.
Prices of the yellow metal at the local level are affected by many factors, especially the price of the dollar against the pound in the local market, the prices of ounces in the gold exchange, economic decisions worldwide and the decrease in oil prices, all of this and others that lead gold prices to move up and down, both locally and globally.
