A source from the Al-Ahly club revealed that Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the Red Castle Board of Directors, will hold a session with the team’s coach, Pitso Mosimane, in order to settle the list that will compete in the Club World Cup of FIFA, which will be held in Doha from February 1 to 11 of the same month.

The source, who declined to be identified, added in exclusive statements through “Yallakora” that Al-Ahly received an official letter from FIFA, in which the latter asked the participating clubs of the World Cup to send their lists before the end of the first week of next January.

The last period has seen negotiations between Al-Ahly and the South African Sundowns to hire the owner of the Uruguayan wing 29, Gaston Sereno, but the agreement did not materialize according to the statement issued by the South African side due to material differences.

Al-Ahly were promoted to the FIFA Club World Cup for the sixth time in their history after winning the African Champions League last month at the expense of rival Zamalek by two goals to one, to crown the Red team the ninth title African of its history.

The draw for the Club World Cup will take place on the 19th of next month in the Swiss capital, Zurich, where Al-Ahly will probably face the winner of the Qatari Al-Duhail and Auckland City match, the Asian champion, the South Korean team Ulcian Hyundai or the Mexican CONCACAF champion, Tigres.
