22-year-old Ugandan player Churchill Awase was killed by his teammates on Tuesday due to a defensive error in a game.
According to the Ugandan newspaper “Daily Monitor”, Awase was playing with his team in a friendly match against a club in Lamu district of northern Uganda, and one of his wrong passes resulted in his team’s goal against a goal. .
The newspaper noted that Awassi’s teammates attacked him after the game, killing him in a strange incident of this kind.

Awasi was reportedly beaten and kicked by several angry players before they were finally fired, and the fight escalated after the match when Awase decided to take revenge on one of his assailants and shove him off the bike.
The fight, which broke out after a moment, resulted in the player being seriously injured, leading to his death, and Awasi was taken to a local hospital, but attempts by doctors to save his life were unsuccessful.
“Later, after the game, the deceased, in an act of revenge, pushed one of the people who hit him earlier so that he fell off the bike, sparking another fight,” said Aguro County President Dennis Onion Sobe.
He added that “the deceased fell a few meters from the scene of the clashes and was transferred to the third Aguro Health Center, where he was declared dead a few hours later.”
Police confirmed that two suspects in Awassi’s murder had been detained and that investigations were continuing.
